Viewport Lab (“the Extension”) is a Chrome Extension designed to help developers test and preview responsive designs in different device viewports. We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your data.
Data Collection
Viewport Lab does not collect, track, or share any personal information.
- No analytics
- No tracking
- No external servers
- No background data collection
All activities happen locally within your browser.
Permissions & How They Are Used
- activeTab: Allows the extension to open the currently active page inside a simulator window. Used only when you trigger the extension.
- tabs: Manages simulator windows (open, close, rotate, refresh). Limited to developer-initiated simulator tabs only.
- scripting: Injects the extension’s toolbar (rotate, refresh, theme, screenshot). Does not alter or collect site data.
- storage: Remembers your theme/device preferences for convenience. No browsing history or personal data is stored.
- downloads: Saves screenshots you capture. The extension does not access or modify other files.
- ****: Needed so you can preview any website in different viewports. Used only for rendering, never for data collection.
Data Sharing
We do not share, sell, or transfer any information to third parties.
Offline Functionality
Viewport Lab works fully offline. Your websites, screenshots, and test results never leave your browser.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are made, we will update the date at the top of this page.
